What Products Can I Sell in a SteadGoods Store?

Our goal for steadgoods.com is simple – hyper localized, neighborly exchange between individuals and within communities. Anything from friends selling extra sourdough loves, to individuals crafting a home-based cottage industry craft business selling within their town in a way that is simple, straightforward, and convenient. Goods on steadgoods.com should be locally made, grown, and crafted items, created by the person, or within the household, of the person selling the goods. Handmade soaps, individually crocheted toys, lovingly wood crafted furniture, eggs from the backyard chickens, birthday cakes baked in your next door neighbors kitchen, and flowers from your raised beds are the kinds of items we dream of seeing freely exchanged between individuals on this platform. SteadGoods does not supply goods itself. All items on our site are posted by local sellers in your area. Buyers and Sellers alike must abide by local state, county and municipal restrictions and guidelines when buying, selling, and posted goods for exchange. Questionable and inappropriate listings can be flagged by potential shoppers for SteadGoods review, and goods are locally rated by buyers to ensure that community accountability keeps all interactions neighborly and of the highest standards! We want everyone to have access to local goods, and for neighbors to have the freedom to buy and sell homemade and handmade items with convenience. SteadGoods combines the simplicity of a local marketplace with online storefronts and modern payment methods for a unique community-driven experience for every storefront. Why SteadGoods for Handmade and Homegrown Goods?

As our friends and neighbors seek to source food and goods more responsible ways, there are a lot of avenues to utilize. What makes SteadGoods unique? A Singular Purpose SteadGoods.com isn’t just a site that includes local homegrown goods, it is ONLY for local handmade and homegrown goods. We strive to create an environment that is simple and laser-focused; connecting the cookie-baking grandmother to the apartment dweller growing microgreens to the garage woodworker on the next block. Simple, straightforward exchange of local foods, plants and goods! Community Connection Imagine a community where you sourced the kid’s birthday cake from the neighbor, your breakfast eggs from a backyard coop down the street, beeswax candles from the beekeeper across town, and the slingshot for the gift from the wood shop set up in your friends basement. There is no greater cooperative effort and no shorter supply chain than a local town providing for one another. Environmental Stewardship Forget the box trucks, boxes, plastic packaging, and fuel required for shipping foods and goods to your grocer or doorstep. Consider what a few truly local purchases does in terms of waste, expense and environmental impact. Now multiply that by hundreds of buyers and sellers exchanging in a condensed local area. Now THAT is impact. Security & Ease By integrating the payments for local goods right into our site, SteadGoods partners with payment processors to ensure smooth transactions and financial protections for both parties. Additionally, buyers can rate interactions and goods, ensuring that exchanges between buyers and sellers stay above board and that obligations are met. Messaging takes place within the site and no cash exchanges happen in person. Finally, sellers can easily accept card payments without their own hardware, making both buying and selling accessible for the average member. Try it Out Try steadgoods.com out today — whether as a buyer, seller or both — and experience a whole new type of local exchange!
