What Can I Sell on SteadGoods?

Steadgoods.com is designed for sellers of handmade, homegrown items produced by or within your own local household or property. The vision is local exchange of neighbor-made goods without the need for booth space, store frontage, or even year round selling. Excess produce from your garden or knitted mittens during the winter are the perfect types of items to sell on a part time basis!

It is the seller’s responsibility to ensure that the local, handmade and homegrown items they are listing abide by local state and municipal restrictions. Users have the ability flag or report questionable items for review by the SteadGoods team. We also reserve the right to remove items that we feel violate the terms of service on our SteadGoods platform.

How Many Products Do I Need to List?

A SteadGoods seller can sell as often or as infrequently as they like. Sell when you have excess honey or carrots; list whenever you need some cash or have the time to make or bake as needed. This exchange platform is meant to be casual, neighborly, and easy to list whenever YOU decide is right.

What Should I Know About Listings?

Each seller gets 15 available listings at a given time. To keep listings fresh, listings last for 14 days, or until the item is sold out. There is no “relist” fee!

How Do I Get the Goods to My Customers?

Sellers should provide their potential buyers either pick up or meet up details in their listings. Porch pick ups, consistently bi-weekly meet ups if desired (i.e. Pick up your pre-purchased eggs on Mondays or Thursdays in the local park) and public meet ups or drop offs are all encouraged. SteadGoods does not provide an avenue for shipping! Neighbor-to-neighbor exchange is the goal.

Am I Responsible for Sales Tax When I Sell on SteadGoods?

No. The SteadGoods platform pays out all taxes to the respective states as a service to our sellers. This streamlines and simplifies your process, making selling a breeze!

What Fees Does SteadGoods Charge?

There are two types of fees charged by SteadGoods. Upon selling a product, the seller will have 8% of the total + a base charge of $0.80 deducted from their payout. These deductions cover all charge costs and transaction processing fees. There is no charge for signing up, and no fees incurred by a seller when listing or relisting products on steadgoods.com.

How Are Seller Payouts Handled?

Three business days after a sale is marked as “completed”, the payout balance from that day’s sales (after fee deductions are made – see above FAQ), is transferred directly into a seller’s bank account.
